The certification system contributes for the regulation of a fair trade to all interested parties, directly benefiting family farmers around the world. It attests to the social, economic, and environmental aspects of the entire production cycle.
Ecocitrus operates with fair trade as a cornerstone, being officially attested by Flocert since 2005. The organic production is certified by the IBD seal, and the Cooperative is registered as the first one in Rio Grande do Sul, certified since 2000, ascertaining its pioneerism in socio environmental responsibility.
THE KEY POINTS THAT ECOCITRUS GUARENTEES TO OPERATE ON THE CORNERSTONE OF FAIR TRADE ARE:
- Transparency and co-responsibility in the management of productive and commercial chain;
- Long-term relationship that offers training and support to producers, as well as access to market information;
- Payment of a fair price upon receiving the product, in addition to a bonus that benefits the entire community;
- Respect for legislation, as well as national and international standards;
- We praise for a safe work environment and all family farmers’ children must attend school;
- The environment must be respected.
In addition to them, we also have nine biodynamic producers certified by the Demeter seal, and 13 farmers with agroforestry registered with the Environment Department of Rio Grande do Sul State.
